Black Cats skipper feels team are close to turning things around

Sunderland captain Lorik Cana has called for a quick solution to the team's away troubles following another defeat on the road. The Black Cats' away form is a stark contrast to their results at the Stadium of Light, with Steve Bruce's side winning five out of seven Premier League games on home soil. The opening-day 1-0 success at Bolton Wanderers, however, is the only match Sunderland have won away in the league in 17 matches. With the club hoping to challenge for European football this season, Cana admits that picking up more points on their travels is a necessity for the Black Cats.

Frustrating

"We're better than that and that's why it's so frustrating," said Cana in response to last weekend's 1-0 loss at Wigan Athletic. "There's a big gap in our performances at home and away, and it's important we find a solution by working harder. "It's about mentality. Each player has to bring a bit more to the pitch to improve the performance level away from home. "We're not far from being right, but we need to find a solution quickly."
