Gunners midfielder eager to repay manager's faith

Arsenal midfielder Denilson is determined to repay Arsene Wenger's faith by helping the club to win a trophy this season. The Gunners have not lifted a major piece of silverware since overcoming Manchester United on penalties to claim the 2005 FA Cup final. Dreams of a first Premier League title since 2004 took a blow on Sunday after a 3-0 defeat at home by Chelsea left Arsenal trailing the current leaders by 11 points. The difference in experience between the two teams was pinpointed as a key reason behind Chelsea claiming the points and Denilson understands the comments. However, the 21-year-old Brazilian outlined the determination within the Arsenal squad to make sure the team finish the season with a trophy. "When you lose people say things that we don't have the experience, but Arsene Wenger believes in us, so you have to have confidence," Denilson told Sky Sports News. "In training you have to focus and you have to believe in him. He gives us the opportunity, you have to show it. "Yesterday, Chelsea scored three goals and were better than us. "We have to have confidence this season. It's a long time since we won a trophy, so we have to win a trophy this season anyway."
