Gallacher called up for Wales clash

Craig Gordon has officially pulled out of the Scotland squad for next Saturday's friendly against Wales. The goalkeeper sustained a fractured arm in a collision with Jermaine Defoe during Sunderland's 2-0 defeat to Tottenham at the weekend. Gordon had to be replaced by Marton Fulop midway through the second half of Saturday's match. St Mirren goalkeeper Paul Gallacher has been called up to replace Gordon in George Burley's squad. The former Dundee United player won the last of his eight caps in a 1-0 win in Estonia in May, 2004. Meanwhile, Rangers defender Steven Whittaker is a doubt after he was taken off during the 2-1 win over St Mirren with a hamstring complaint. A Scottish Football Association spokesperson said: "Craig is obviously out but we are still waiting on news on Steven Whittaker. "The players are not due to meet up until Tuesday morning at Glasgow airport so we will have a better idea then."
