Tykes striker agrees loan switch

Colchester have bolstered their attacking options by taking Barnsley striker Kayode Odejayi on an emergency loan deal. The Nigerian-born frontman has spent the last two years with the Tykes, making 82 appearances following a 2007 switch from Cheltenham. He has, however, been deemed surplus to requirements at Oakwell by new Barnsley boss Mark Robins. Odejayi, who spent a brief spell on loan at Scunthorpe last season, will now spend the next three months working under Aidy Boothroyd at Colchester. "Kayode needs to kick-start his career," Robins told Barnsley's official website. "He will go to Colchester for an initial three months and we will take it from there."
