Defender out for a month with knee problem

Aldershot defender Andy Sandell says he will be out of action for at least a month with a knee injury. The 26-year-old sustained a knock to his knee inside the final few minutes of the Shots' 1-1 draw against Port Vale on Saturday. Following a consultation with the club's medics he has confirmed he will be sidelined for some weeks. Frustrated by the news, Sandell admits he could have avoided the injury which will see him miss crucial ties against Crewe and Cheltenham within the next fortnight. "It wasn't a clever injury and it's a shame really because I was enjoying the game even though we were not playing particularly well," he said. "I was getting plenty of the ball but I went for a block tackle and it opened up my knee. "The doctor had a look at it and I could be out for at least a month."
