Striker to leave Ashton Gate on free transfer

Queens Park Rangers are leading the race to sign Bristol City striker Dele Adebola, skysports.com understands. Adebola looks set to leave Ashton Gate on a free transfer in the summer when his contract expires. Robins boss Gary Johnson admitted over the weekend he was resigned to losing Adebola at the end of the season, with the player holding out for a two-year deal rather than the 12-month contract offered by City. A number of clubs, including Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United, have been linked with the powerful striker, but it appears QPR are at the head of the queue for his signature. The 33-year-old, who has scored ten goals this season, is an attractive proposition for Rangers as he is available on a free transfer and has a wealth of experience as they look to build a squad capable of challenging for promotion next term.
