Baggies boss Tony Mowbray set to stick with Dutchman

West Bromwich Albion defender Ryan Donk is in line for a test of character at Anfield on Saturday. Donk was substituted at half-time in last weekend's 1-1 draw with Blackburn when manager Tony Mowbray feared the Dutchman might be sent off after conceding an early penalty. But with Abdoulaye Meite and Leon Barnett both likely to be ruled out through injury, Donk is set to keep his place against Liverpool. "It's a tough little period for Ryan and the last thing he needed was what happened on Saturday (with the penalty)," Mowbray told the Express and Star.

"He's got to get his head down and work hard. He's a professional footballer so there's nowhere for him to hide. "He has to get on with it, stand up and be counted and keep going. Leon is struggling and Meite is struggling, so Ryan has to stand up big and be ready to go again. "Ryan's our best option at this moment, depending how he is in training this week and how it affects him mentally. "Hopefully he will react in a positive way and be ready to give us a big performance this weekend."
