Luton midfielder joins Championship strugglers on loan

Leicester City have snapped up David Bell on loan from Luton Town for the rest of the season. Though the loan deadline was at 5pm on Thursday, a backlog of paperwork ensured the deal could not be ratified until Friday morning. Bell is available to face Scunthorpe United on Saturday and Leicester boss Ian Holloway expects the midfielder to boost the club's survival battle. "He's a young, exciting player with a big future ahead of him," Holloway told the club's official website. "We've been watching his progress since he was at Rushden and I like him a lot. "He can play on either wing as well as in the middle of the park. He will add some much-needed width to our squad. "Luton have turned down a number of bids from other clubs for him and we are delighted to have him on board."
