Cristiano Ronaldo netted an incredible five goals in Real Madrid’s 9-1 demolition of Granada at the Bernabeu

Cristiano Ronaldo bagged an incredible five goals as Real Madrid romped to a 9-1 win against Granada in La Liga on Sunday.

Ronaldo took over after Gareth Bale continued his fine form by opening the scoring after 25 minutes, the Portuguese ace scored three times in eight minutes just after the half hour mark.

Karim Benzema struck twice either side of Ronaldo's fourth as Real added three more in a four-minute spell just after the break.

Robert Ibanez grabbed a consolation for the visitors, but Diego Mainz's own goal made it 8-1 before Ronaldo rounded off the scoring with a towering header for his first ever five goal haul and took his tally for the season in Spain's top flight to 36 goals.

He is four ahead of Barcelona's Lionel Messi at the top of the scoring chart and has scored more goals this term than 53 of the 98 teams in Europe's top five leagues.
