Dean Brill says there are 'no egos' at Inverness Caledonian Thistle and expects positive progress in contract extension talks.

Caley remain firmly in the Scottish Premiership title race, with a 26-point haul from 13 games enough to have them sat level with table-topping Celtic.

Confidence is soaring within an in-form squad, with manager John Hughes benefitting greatly from stability and continuity.

He has, however, seen a number of players enter the final year of their current deals.

Hot properties such as Billy Mckay and Graeme Shinnie are among those yet to agree fresh terms, but Brill believes no-one should be looking to leave the club.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper told the Daily Record: “There may be a few contracts up for negotiation this year and I’m sure the club are addressing that.

“It doesn’t really get talked about in the dressing room but positivity breeds happiness. You want to stay where things are positive, moving forwards.

“If you’re happy with life outside football, which I’m sure the majority of lads are – we all knock around together – it’s the same as any walk of life, I suppose.

“If you’re happy with your lot, the grass ain’t always greener elsewhere.

“There’s definitely no egos here. We’re a little club up in the Highlands and we enjoy flying under the radar in the Premiership.

“We enjoy going to the training ground every day and living our lives together. That’s the way we go and it has served us well.”
