World Cup: Guillermo Ochoa says Mexico are ready for Netherlands test

Guillermo Ochoa says Mexico are ready for the Netherlands and will not be focusing their efforts on stopping Arjen Robben.

The Dutch have been one of the most impressive sides in Brazil so far, easing into the last-16 after taking maximum points from their three fixtures at the group stage.

Mexico are also yet to taste defeat, though, having taken seven points from their Group A campaign to finish level with host nation Brazil.

In-form goalkeeper Ochoa, who is a free agent this summer and has put himself firmly in the shop window, is aware that Holland will provide another stern test of Mexico’s credentials.

Holland are a team that plays like a computer, very intelligent, with many quality players, and we must be careful of all of them.

He is, however, adamant that preparations have gone well and that Miguel Herrera’s side should not be overly concerned by the threat posed by one man – Bayern Munich winger Robben.

Ochoa said ahead of Sunday’s second round clash: “We cannot just concentrate on Robben, no matter how good he is.

“Holland are a team that plays like a computer, very intelligent, with many quality players, and we must be careful of all of them.

“We have watched their games and seen that they have players who can make a difference, but so have we.

“The other thing is that we have our strengths.

“We will be aware of them, but they need to be aware of us. We will play our football, and play to win.”

Ochoa, who has conceded just one goal so far, added: “Our defensive line is strong, and that is fundamental in a tournament.

“That is a strength that helps you get results because it gives more options to attackers.
