Parma have announced the loan signing of AC Milan defender Jherson Vergara.
The 19-year-old moved to the San Siro from Columbian outfit Deportes Quindio last summer, but injury worries have stalled his progress and he is yet to make a Serie A appearance.
Vergara has represented Columbia at under-20 level and he says he is pleased to have completed the switch as he looks to follow in the footsteps of fellow countryman Tino Asprilla.
"I am happy to play for Parma, it is an honour and I want to do well with my new team," he told the club's official TV channel.
"I saw the videos of Asprilla with this jersey, he is a big idol for all of us in Columbia, especially for those who were children at the time like me."
