Former Argentina U20 international cuts short Serie A stay
Lille completed their second signing of the January transfer window with the capture of Mauro Cetto on a six-month loan from Palermo.
The 29-year-old defender spent nine years in France with Nantes and Toulouse, before he defected to Serie A last year.
Lille have the option of making the deal permanent for a fee of 1.5 million euros and Cetto admitted he was delighted to be back in France.
"I have only just arrived here but I can already see the high level of the facilities they have here," he told www.losc.fr.
Opportunity
"The reception I received was great and I am delighted to be here. It is true that I found it difficult to adapt to life in Italy."
He added: "I did not get the playing time I wanted, and the opportunity to join Lille was something I immediately liked.
"Year after year, LOSC grows. This is definitely a club for the future and one that is doing well at the moment too.
"When there are good players around you, it's even easier to integrate."
