Juventus have completed the signing of right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner from Lazio in a €10m (£9m) deal.

Defender joins Turin club on four-year contract

Juventus have completed the signing of right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner from Lazio in a €10million (£9m) deal, the club has confirmed. The 27-year-old Swiss defender underwent a medical in Turin earlier this week and has now been cleared to make the move north. Lichtsteiner joins Juve on a four-year deal, while his transfer fee will be paid across a three-year period. A statement on the club's official website read: "Juventus Football Club have defined the agreement with Lazio for the permanent signing of Stephan Lichtsteiner, for a sum of €10million which will be paid over three years. "Juventus have signed the same player on a four-year deal." Lichtsteiner moved to Lazio from Lille in the summer of 2008 and was under contract with the Biancoceleste for a further year. He has been a target of Juventus in recent months, with the Bianconeri looking to strengthen their defensive line, which was one of their main weaknesses last term. He becomes Juve's fourth acquisition this summer after Michele Pazienza, Andrea Pirlo and Reto Ziegler joined the club from Napoli, AC Milan and Sampdoria respectively.
