Keeper interested in move to Premier League

West Bromwich Albion have reportedly made an offer for Japanese goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima. Baggies' boss Roy Hodgson is keen to add a keeper to his squad and after missing out on Brad Friedel earlier this week, he has turned his attention to Kawashima. According to reports in the Far East, Kawashima's Belgian club Lierse SK have received an initial bid from West Brom and a deal appears likely. Despite having only been in Lierse for one season, the former Kawasaki Frontale custodian admitted he would relish the opportunity to move to the Premier League.

Interest

"I'm always hoping that I can play in a more competitive league one day, especially in an English-speaking country," said Kawashima.. West Brom had been keeping tabs on Kawashima for a while now and made an enquiry on the player's availability in March.
