Ajax midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro has been ruled out for a further three months after suffering a recurrence of a foot injury.
The Uruguay star, who arrived at the Amsterdam Arena in January, is yet to play for Martin Jol's side this season after sustaining a metatarsal problem to his right foot at the World Cup in the summer.
The 21-year-old recently completed his recovery and played a full game with the reserves, but went on to sustain the same injury again during training.
Lodeiro, who is set to undergo surgery in the near future, has been plagued by injury ever since arriving in Amsterdam from Nacional, making just eight Eredivisie appearances to date.
His latest setback comes as a further blow to Ajax, who currently sit fourth in the standings with 21 points.
