Injury-prone winger handed 'platform to build on'

St Mirren winger Stephen Robb has signed a new short-term deal with the Buddies. The 28-year-old, who has had his time at the Paisley club disrupted by injury, has committed his future until 1st January 2011. Buddies boss Danny Lennon believes the length of the deal is in the best interests of both the club and the player. "Steven Robb is no doubt the type of player we want at the football club, but the biggest thing for him is that he has got to be on the park playing," he told the club's official website. "The short-term deal safeguards us in a way if he is affected by injury problems again, but the most important thing for him is that it gives him that platform to build on and something to aim for. "I think with the short-term contract this will certainly make Steven Robb more positive and mentally stronger."
