Defender hopes to impress during trial

Paul Arnison is keen to discover if he has done enough to earn a permanent deal with Darlington after a 10-day trial. The full-back is not in the first-team picture with current club Bradford and has been told by manager Stuart McCall he is free to move on. Former Hartlepool and Carlisle defender Arnison now hopes to have impressed Quakers boss Colin Todd during his stint in the North East. "I've been here now for 10 days and played two matches," Arnison told Bradford's official website. "Nothing has been said yet about a contract but we've got a game on Wednesday as well and hopefully I'll find out soon." Arnison, 31, played during the Quakers' 7-2 mauling at the hands of a star-studded Newcastle on Saturday. "They moved the ball really well and it was a good experience to face players like Nicky Butt and Kevin Nolan," he added.
