Shaw targeting promotion to League One
Rochdale have signed striker Jon Shaw for an undisclosed fee from Blue Square Premier club Halifax Town.
Shaw has agreed a two-year contract at Spotland after scoring 20 goals in 37 games in the Conference for Halifax last season.
He only joined Halifax last August from Burton Albion and the former Sheffield Wednesday youngster is looking forward to playing League football again.
"I can tell you that this club hasn't had to do a hard sell on me after the performances last year and nearly getting promoted," Shaw told the club's official website.
"They had a fantastic season and it is great for me to come to a club that is looking to get promotion to division one.
"It's a great boost for myself and hopefully I can come in and do myself and the Conference proud.
"I am looking forward to a season of success."
