Niko Kranjcar has denied Croatia will be jaded when they take on England.

Croatia will not be running on empty when they take on England at Wembley on Wednesday, according to midfielder Niko Kranjcar. Slaven Bilic's side slumped to their first defeat in Group E on Saturday when they went down 2-0 to FYR Macedonia. Croatia looked jaded in Skopje but Portsmouth star Kranjcar insists there is more in the tank. He said: "We have some strength left for that final clash with England at Wembley. We are ready for it." Kranjcar is excited at the prospect of playing at Wembley. "The atmosphere among us players will be at the highest possible level," he added.

Special

"Of course, playing at that stadium is part of it, it is really something special for us." The hosts need just a point to join Croatia in Austria and Switzerland next summer but Kranjcar says the visitors will do Steve McClaren's men no favours. "We must give our best as we want to prove that there are still enough fair teams and players in the world, just like Israel have shown in their match against Russia," he said. "We must be on the same level. And we must play well to show our quality and to confirm the ability we have shown during these qualifiers." Another player plying his trade in England, Manchester City defender Vedran Corluka, is determined to help Croatia finish top of the group. He said: "For us, the most important thing is that we've qualified for the finals. Nothing else matters. "Now, we are going to London to show England why we are first in our group. That's our task there - our one and only task."
