Sky Bet Football League: Bournemouth's Eddie Howe is named Championship Manager of the Month for December

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has been named Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month for December.

Howe, who also won the October award, steered the Cherries to the Football League summit with a perfect December run of five wins during which their stylish brand of football was rewarded with 17 goals.

Former Ipswich and Derby manager George Burley chairs the Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel. He said: "Amassing a magnificent 15 points from five games gave Eddie Howe a 100% record in December.

"Scoring 17 goals in the process is a phenomenal achievement for any manager."

Phil Parkinson and Rory McArdle secured an award double for Bradford after winning the Sky Bet League One manager and player gongs respectively.

Parkinson led the Bantams into the play-off places after overseeing an unbeaten run which saw the club pick up 10 points in the process.

Centre-back McArdle was a key member of City’s defence which conceded only one goal during the undefeated four-game run.

AFC Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley scooped the League Two Manager of the Month award after claiming three wins, while former Wycombe Wanderers striker Paris Cowan-Hall landed the player’s prize.

Cowan-Hall struck three times in December - including a delightful curler in a 1-1 draw with Accrington Stanley - and earned a move to the Championship with Millwall at the start of 2015.
