Scottish Premiership: Inverness v Dundee United team news

Inverness and Dundee United meet at the Tulloch Caledonian stadium on Tuesday night as both clubs look to cement their Europa League claims.

Dundee United, who are four points behind their third-placed hosts with four matches remaining, will be eager to build on their weekend win over Aberdeen; they will guarantee continental competition by finishing third but a fourth-place finish would also be sufficient, should Caley Thistle remain third but go on to prevail against Falkirk in the Scottish Cup final. 

Inverness, who have not won in nine league games, welcome back midfielder Ross Draper after he served a two-match ban. Dean Brill and Richie Foran are out for the season with knee injuries.

David Raven, who signed a new one-year deal last week, will miss out after his late red card in the weekend's 1-1 draw at St Johnstone.

Inverness manager John Hughes told The North Star: "We have St Johnstone and Dundee United breathing down our necks but I wanted to be there in this part of the season getting success for the club and hopefully we do because we deserve it.

"The players have been a wonderful bunch. I keep asking them to go back to the well. I appreciate we won't win every game but what the boys have given me has been absolutely outstanding and all credit to them.

"We're playing against a Dundee United side that'll be buoyant after beating Aberdeen, something that we couldn't do."

United midfielder Calum Butcher returns after serving a one-game suspension against Aberdeen. Ryan Dow (groin), Paul Paton (knee) and Mario Bilate (hamstring) are all out for the season.

Midfielder Charlie Telfer told The Dundee Courier: “We are just taking it one game at a time. First and foremost, we are trying to improve as a team.

“We have a bit of form back now and we are looking to pick up and secure as many points as we can between now and the end of the season. First half of the season, we were brilliant, we got into the cup final and then we have had this bad patch.

“So it would be great if we could get a European spot. It was a hard-fought game against Aberdeen but I thought we did well. We were a bit ropey at the first 15 minutes at the start of the second half but I thought we got it together and I felt we deserved it.”
