Wycombe became only the second team to avoid defeat at the Greenhous Meadow this season as they held Shrewsbury to a 0-0 draw.

Micky Mellon's table-toppers thought they have won it in stoppage time when sub Andy Mangan had the ball in the net but Shrewsbury's joy was cut short by an assistant referee's flag. Shrewsbury started brightly and James Collins escaped the attentions of the Wycombe central defenders only to fire over when he was picked out by a long ball forward from Josh Passley. But Wycombe, who have such an impressive away record, responded well and with Paris Cowan-Hall always lively they caused Shrewsbury several problems. Not that home goalkeeper Jayson Leutwiler had much to do other than gather a shot from Stuart Lewis which was straight at him. Shrewsbury upped the tempo as the interval approached with Connor Goldson seeing a close range volley blocked before skipper Liam Lawrence was unable to keep down a free-kick from the edge of the penalty area. The hosts continued to look the more likely winners in the second half with Mickey Demetriou and Scott Vernon both missing decent chances. Mark Ellis was also close to a breakthrough when his close-range shot was turned round a post by goalkeeper Matt Ingram. But Wycombe stood firm to register a hard-earned away point which leaves them second in the table, only behind Shrewsbury on goal difference.
