Walsall v Shrewsbury preview

Image: Milan Lalkovic: Faces a late test

Team news for Saturday's League One clash between Walsall and Shrewsbury Town at Bescot Stadium.

Walsall forward Milan Lalkovic could miss the home clash with Shrewsbury through injury. The on-loan Chelsea youngster was forced to come off at half-time during Tuesday's 2-0 victory over Bradford and will be assessed ahead of kick-off. James Baxendale is Lalkovic's likely replacement and that could be the only change to Walsall's starting line-up. The win at Valley Parade extended their unbeaten run to four games and moved them to within five points of the play-off places. Shrewsbury defender Jermaine Grandison will be assessed ahead of the trip to Walsall. Grandison limped off with a hamstring injury in the first half of the midweek draw against Carlisle and is a doubt. Central midfielder Dave McAllister missed the clash at Brunton Park with an ankle problem picked up in the previous game and also faces a race against time to be fit. Luke Summerfield (thigh), Nathaniel Mendez-Laing (hamstring) and Tom Bradshaw (knee) remain sidelined as the Shrews look for a win which could move them to safety.
