Jeff Goulding: New Shots signing

Team news for Saturday's League Two clash between Cheltenham and Aldreshot at Whaddon Road.

Cheltenham are waiting on the fitness of Darren Carter.

The former West Brom and Birmingham midfielder is a doubt with an ankle injury but has returned to light training.

Paul Benson, who scored the winning goal at Southend on Tuesday night, suffered a dead leg and the Robins medical team look set to leave it late before making a decision on the former Charlton striker.

If Benson is not available then Kaid Mohamed could step in to the starting line-up.

Midfielder Marlon Pack, who put in one of his best displays of the season at Roots Hall, will be involved again despite the ongoing speculation about a move away from the club.

But young defender Harry Hooman looks like he could be sidelined for the rest of the season for Mark Yates' men who currently sit in third place in League Two.

Jeff Goulding is set for an early reunion with his former club Cheltenham.

The striker signed for the Shots on Wednesday on a deal until the end of the season having been released by the Robins at the end of January, bringing the curtain down on a two-and-a-half-year stint with the Gloucestershire club.

Goulding will now get an immediate chance to show Cheltenham exactly what they are missing as he strives to help Aldershot climb out of the relegation places in League Two.

Michael Rankine will be unavailable to manager Dean Holdsworth having this week joined former club York on loan until the end of the campaign.

Holdsworth has no new injury or suspension concerns for the encounter, with only long-term absentees Craig Stanley (broken leg) and Olly Lancashire (abdomen) on the sidelines.
