Michael Laudrup: Swansea manager will be hoping to continue his winning start to his reign

Swansea defend their 100 per cent record under Michael Laudrup when they host Sunderland at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.

Opta Facts

  • Sunderland have won none of their last eight Premier League away games
  • Michu has scored three goals from just three shots on target
  • Danny Graham has scored in three successive Premier League home appearances

Laudrup followed up emphatic back-to-back Premier League wins with another triumph over Barnsley in the Capital One Cup in midweek to continue the impressive start to his reign.

Barring a miraculous result for Everton against West Brom at The Hawthorns, a victory for the Swans will take them to the top of the Premier League going into the international break.

Sunderland will be grateful just to be playing the fixture after their first home game of the campaign against Reading was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

That allowed new signings Steven Fletcher and Adam Johnson to make their debuts in the less pressured environment of Tuesday's 2-0 cup win over Morecambe.

And the Black Cats will take encouragement from their goalless draw at Arsenal on the opening day that they can stop a free-scoring Swansea side that has so far netted eight Premier League goals without reply.

Swansea Badge Swansea

Chico Flores and Wayne Routledge are expected to be fit to face Sunderland as Swansea look to continue their 100% start to the Premier League season.

Defender Flores (groin) and winger Routledge (thigh) have had niggling injuries but Laudrup is confident they will be fit to face the Black Cats.

New signing Ki Sung yueng could be set for his Premier League bow after making his debut against Barnsley in midweek.

Swansea are set to complete the signing of Valencia winger Pablo Hernandez on deadline day, but he will not be included in the squad.

S'land Badge S'land

Johnson and Fletcher could both be handed Premier League debuts for Sunderland at Swansea.

The pair, who signed for the Black Cats a week ago on Friday, started Tuesday night's Capital One Cup second round victory over Morecambe and will hope to retain their places for the game at the Liberty Stadium.

Phil Bardsley (ankle), Wes Brown (knee) and David Vaughan (ankle) remain on the sidelines, while Ahmed Elmohamady has joined Hull on loan.

Sunderland are also trying to agree deals to bring in Tottenham duo Jermaine Jenas and Danny Rose, but they are unlikely to be available.
