Charlton v Exeter preview

Image: Wright-Phillips (c): Set to keep his place

Team news ahead of Saturday's League One clash between Charlton Athletic and Exeter City at The Valley.

Danny Green should return to the Charlton squad. The winger missed Monday night's 1-1 draw against Sheffield Wednesday through illness but is expected to be available to challenge Scott Wagstaff for his place on the right. Boss Chris Powell is otherwise likely to name an unchanged line-up after striker Bradley Wright-Phillips came through his return from a knee injury unscathed. New loan signing Leon Cort will have to wait for his debut with Michael Morrison and former Grecian Matt Taylor starting in central defence once more. Striker Jason Euell is likely to be preferred on the bench to Paul Benson, who could be set for a loan move away from The Valley. Exeter will rely on the goals of Rowan Vine and Daniel Nardiello to fire them to victory. Paul Tisdale's Grecians have just one win from their last seven outings and are without strikers Guillem Bauza and John O'Flynn. Nardiello and Vine started at Hartlepool last weekend, and Tisdale is expected to keep faith with the pair again at The Valley. Liam Sercombe is another long-term injury victim for the Devon club. Sercombe's broken foot has ruled him out of action since the 2-1 defeat to Brentford at St James' Park on August 16, and it is likely to be several weeks before the midfielder returns to full fitness. Goalkeeper Lenny Pidgeley should keep his place between the sticks.
