Team news ahead of Saturday's League One clash between Chesterfield and Leyton Orient at the B2net stadium.

Alex Mendy is eligible to make his Chesterfield debut.

French winger Mendy signed for the Spireites two weeks ago but problems with international clearance ruled him out of the games at MK Dons and Exeter.

The 27-year-old will be in manager John Sheridan's squad and could go straight into the starting line-up.

Fellow new signings Jonathan Grounds, Lee Johnson and Craig Westcarr made their first appearances for the club against Exeter and they could also be in line for home debuts.

Dwayne Mattis missed the defeat in Devon with an ankle problem but the midfielder is expected to be fit for Saturday, when veteran striker Jack Lester will probably come back into the team after starting on the bench last week.

Chesterfield have yet to win a game this season and failure to beat Orient will result in the club's worst start to a campaign since 1901.

Meanwhile Scott Cuthbert and Matthew Spring are injury doubts for Leyton Orient.

Defender Cuthbert limped off during the first half of Tuesday night's Carling Cup win against Bristol Rovers with a calf problem, and midfielder Spring has missed the last two matches with groin trouble.

Centre-half Terrell Forbes came through his first 90 minutes in midweek unscathed following a stomach injury and could be in the starting line-up again.

Jamie Cureton and David Mooney will start in attack in the wake of fellow striker Alex Revell's deadline-day switch to Rotherham.

Goalkeeper Jamie Jones remains a long-term absentee after a shoulder operation so Tottenham loanee David Button starts with Lee Butcher on the bench.
