Kuffour: Left out of Rovers squad

Team news ahead of Saturday's League Two clash between Crawley and Bristol Rovers at Broadfield Stadium.

Crawley boss Steve Evans has a number of selection dilemmas.

Evans made seven changes from the side beaten 3-1 at Cheltenham last weekend and his new-look line-up were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Southend in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday night.

Scott Shearer could return in place of Michel Kuipers in goal while defenders Dean Howell and David Hunt, midfielders Scott Davies and Josh Simpson and strikers Wes Thomas and Tyrone Barnett are pushing for recalls.

Teenage QPR loanee Michael Doughty could also be added to the squad after missing out in midweek.

Skipper Pablo Mills (ankle) and fellow defender Jamie Day (back) are still in the treatment room but Evans has no new injury concerns.

Jo Kuffour will not feature in the Bristol Rovers squad despite remaining with the Gas in the meantime after he failed to find a new club in the transfer window.

Manager Paul Buckle described Kuffour as being "in the departure lounge" ahead of the loan window opening next week.

Joe Anyinsah, Matt Harrold and Cian Bolger all remain doubtful for the trip to Broadfield Stadium, and all missed the midweek Carling Cup loss against Leyton Orient.

Adam Virgo came off after 35 minutes against Orient but should be ready to return to the starting XI on Saturday.

Youngster Eliot Richards could feature in the squad again after netting his first career goal at Brisbane Road on Tuesday.
