Shrews back in the play-off spots

Shrewsbury moved back into the play-off places after an Ian Sharps own goal gifted them a 2-1 win at Rotherham - just their second away win of the season. The visitors hit the post after 22 minutes and missed a hatful of chances - with leading marksman Grant Holt the main culprit - before Nick Chadwick gave them the lead. Rotherham's defence was all at sea when Paul Murray's pass picked out Chadwick on the penalty spot and he had all the time in the world to place his shot under goalkeeper Andy Warrington. Nothing was seen of Rotherham as an attacking force and they could not manage a shot on target in the first period. In fact, Rotherham's first shot on target after 70 minutes brought their equaliser. Mark Hudson's corner was headed down by Sharps and Ryan Taylor prodded home from close range. But within five minutes Town were back in front. Neil Ashton completed some great work wide on the left with a fierce drive across goal and Sharps stuck out a boot to deflect the ball into his own net.
