But it could have been a different story as the Shrews had five good efforts in the first 11 minutes. These included Dean Holden's shot being cleared off the line and Simon Eastwood making a stunning save from Dave Hibbert's overhead kick. But Bradford stunned the hosts and scored with their first chance 16 minutes in, with Michael Flynn squaring for Gareth Evans to shoot home. In-form midfielder Flynn then made it two after 35 minutes with a fine 30-yard drive that flew into the bottom corner. Hibbert pulled one back for Paul Simpson's men with a glancing header with 20 minutes to go. Kelvin Langmead and Jake Simpson both hit the crossbar as Shrewsbury pressed hard for an equaliser but the Bantams held on for the victory.
