Dannie Bulman's calm second-half finish proved the difference as Crawley beat Gillingham 1-0 at the Priestfield Stadium on Tuesday.

Gillingham worked hard but Crawley's Dutch goalkeeper Michel Kuipers was not troubled consistently enough by Andy Hessenthaler's men, who had won five of their previous six matches. It sealed back-to-back wins for the visitors to keep them firmly cemented in the League Two play-off zone, while Gillingham drop to ninth. Crawley had set the tone early on as Kyle McFadzean's header hit the crossbar before a penalty area scramble saw the ball hooked clear. Gillingham's best chance came midway through the first half following Kuipers' fumble but Simon King placed his shot wide. And five minutes into the second half they were behind as Bulman slipped in behind the defence and side-footed past Paulo Gazzaniga. Gillingham pushed hard for an equaliser but Dean Howell headed Danny Kedwell's late effort off the line as the Kent side's play-off hopes suffered a massive blow.
