Crawley Town v Port Vale preview

Team news for Saturday's League Two clash between Crawley and Port Vale at Broadfield Stadium.

Pablo Mills should return to the Crawley defence for the visit of Port Vale. The Town skipper was sidelined for Tuesday's 2-2 draw against Aldershot with an ankle knock but is expected to be fit. Mills should reclaim his place in central-defence alongside Claude Davis, allowing Kyle McFadzean to revert to midfield. Striker Gary Alexander had to come off against Aldershot after a stray elbow left him needing stitches in his mouth, but he will be available. Josh Simpson, Scott Neilson and John Akinde are options for boss Steve Evans if he opts to make changes after eight games without a win. Right-back David Hunt is still sidelined with a broken foot and goalkeeper Scott Shearer is out for the season with a knee injury. Meanwhile, Port Vale are short of defenders for the trip to Crawley. Manager Micky Adams has had to cope with a threadbare squad for some time now, particularly since the club went into administration, but numbers are even tighter after Lee Collins completed his move to Barnsley this week. Collins has joined the npower Championship club on loan for the remainder of the season, when the 23-year-old defender will make his move to Oakwell a permanent one, as administrators try to generate money for the cash-strapped Valiants. Clayton McDonald is likely to replace Collins in the starting line up, leaving Adams light at the back as Gareth Owen is still sidelined with knee and hip injuries. Midfielder Sam Morsy and forwards Tom Pope and Ben Williamson are options for Adams should he wish to make any more changes.
