Shakers welcome Gills to Gigg Lane

Top goalscorer Andy Bishop will return to the Bury starting line-up as they attempt to get their season back on track against Gillingham. Bishop was dropped to the bench for the visit of Grimsby after suffering from fatigue last weekend, but boss Alan Knill was forced to introduce the eight-goal striker at half-time with his side trailing 2-0 at the break. And he will come back into Knill's starting line-up to partner either Andy Morrell or Glynn Hurst after Oldham loanee Chris O'Grady returned to his parent club, while defender Ben Futcher will also return to the first-team squad following an ankle injury. Knill will be hoping the incentive of revenge can spur on his out-of-form team after the Gills knocked Bury out of the FA Cup a fortnight ago. "In that game Gillingham competed better, won more second balls and did the right things at the right time," said Knill. "They edged it in that game, but we had a goal disallowed at 1-0 and that could have made it a different game. "I am always confident in this team. We have some strong players."

      Almost fully-fit squad

Gillingham manager Mark Stimson has an almost fully-fit squad at his disposal. Stimson has been beset by injuries to his strikers in recent weeks but Simeon Jackson (ankle) and Mark McCammon (hamstring) returned to the squad for the 4-0 win over Rotherham last weekend. Jackson started the game and showed no ill-effects from the injury which had kept him out for almost a month and will be able to keep his place despite being away on international duty with Canada in midweek, where he was an unused substitute. McCammon came off the bench at half-time and the duo's return was a timely one with fellow frontman Gary Mulligan ruled out by a bug - but he will return to the squad at Gigg Lane. Andy Barcham - who scored the winner in the 1-0 FA Cup win at Bury two weeks ago - returned to training on Thursday after suffering a head injury late on last weekend. He will be in the squad along with midfielder Curtis Weston, who was forced off at the interval with a hip injury against the Millers, meaning winger Dennis Oli (foot) is the only absentee.
