Bordeaux were victorious at home for the second time in three days with a 3-2 win over out-of-form Lorient. In what was a rearranged fixture after the initial clash was postponed earlier in the month, Henri Saivet set the hosts on their way with his fifth of the season only for Sadio Diallo to level four minutes later for the visitors. Cheikh Diabate reinstated Bordeaux's goal advantage and Guillaume Hoarau scored his first goal for Les Girondins to make it 3-1 before Lamine Kone pulled a late goal back for Christian Gourcuff's team. The visitors almost made the perfect start when Diallo found Vincent Aboubakar inside the area before the Cameroon striker lashed an effort which seemed goal-bound until Cedric Carrasso intervened to turn it onto the bar. Bordeaux had to wait nearly 20 minutes before they fashioned a real chance but Saivet dragged the ball wide of the goal on the turn after being picked out by Nicloas Maurice-Belay's corner. However, Saivet went one better just a few minutes later when Gregory Sertic swung a free-kick in from out on the left and Bordeaux's number 10 arrived at the back post to nod beyond Florent Chaigneau for the opening goal. The hosts lead only lasted four minutes, though, when Diallo was allowed to carry the ball half the length of the pitch and, following a fortuitous bounce, the former Rennes striker was left with just Carrasso to beat and made no mistake with his left foot. The first-half scoring didn't end there and Les Girondins found themselves back in front with less than 10 minutes to go until the break. Full-back Lucas Orban was released on the left by Maurice-Belay and his cross found Diabate who cleverly lifted the ball over Chaigneau to reclaim Bordeaux's goal advantage. Both sides began the second-half somewhat lethargically and Maurice-Belay's curling effort for Bordeaux after cutting in from the left was about as exciting as it got in the early stages at a sparsely populated Chaban-Delmas. Les Girondins continued to huff and puff in search of a third but Henrique saw his 25-yard effort countered just after the hour mark as Wesley Lautoa sent the ball out for a corner. The hosts' efforts paid off though as Lorient continued to be uninspired and Francis Gillot's men made full use of their opponent's lack of quality. Orban was the orchestrator again and, after Chaigneau flapped at his hopeful cross, Hoarau was left with a straight forward finish for the former PSG striker's first goal since returning to French football. Lorient made a late go of it and managed to pull one back when Kone got ahead of Henrique to poke Diallo's corner beyond Carrasso from close range but it was a case of too little too late as Bordeaux held on for all three points.
