The Gunners play their first game since the 8-2 hammering by Manchester United a fortnight ago but have brought in new players at the close of the transfer window.
Brendan Rodgers' Swansea have shown that they can compete with top-flight sides, underlined by draws with Wigan and Sunderland, but their only other away fixture ended in a 4-0 defeat to Manchester City.
The game will be the first time the two sides have met in a competitive fixture for almost 30 years while the Swans completed the double against the North London outfit in the old Division One in the 1981/82 season.
Arsenal's failure to beat Manchester United made it six Premier League games without a win for the first time since 1994.
But, after the sale of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri, in addition to some high-profile new additions, Arsene Wenger will be hoping that his side can start from a clean slate.
Wenger still has injury problems heading into the game, after he confirmed on Friday that Abou Diaby and Jack Wilshere are both out with ankle injuries.

South Korean striker Park Chu-Young, who joined from Monaco, and Yossi Benayoun, who made the switch from Chelsea, could make their debuts but are most likely to start on the bench.
Swansea have picked up one more point than the Gunners after three games of the new season and the club are still on a high after their play-off win last May.
Goalkeeper Michel Vorm has made an impact since signing from Utrecht and has managed to keep two clean sheets against Wigan and Sunderland respectively.
Rodgers has fewer injuries and suspensions than his counterpart, but will still be without midfielder Ferrie Bodde (knee) and defender Alan Tate (broken leg).
Garry Monk remains a doubt with a foot injury, despite recently making an appearance for the club's reserve side.
