AIK unable to hold on to narrow lead

Second half-strikes from Vitaliy Mandziuk and Yevhen Seleznyov saw Dnipro come from behind to defeat Europa League rivals AIK 3-2 and go top of Group F. After opening their campaign with a 2-0 success over PSV Eindhoven, the Ukrainian side registered a second victory despite going in 2-1 behind at the break. Helgi Danielsson put the Swedes in front in the fourth minute before Nikola Kalinic (41) and Henok Goitom (45) traded goals just before interval. Dnipro hit back strongly in the second period and found their reward through Manziuk's 75th-minute leveller and Seleznyov's winning effort seven minutes from time. Danielsson's opening goal got things going with a bang, a dipping volley that crossed the line via the inside of the post. Dnipro were desperately close to levelling after 15 minutes when Yevgen Konoplianka's cross was met by Seleznyov, whose header drew a superb stop from Ivan Turina.

Dominated

The away side dominated the next passage of play, Oleksandr Aliev with successive shots from range and Kalinic wasting a decent chance inside the area. It took a while but the deserved equaliser came before the break when Ruslan Rotan's long ball was collected and finished by the lively Kalinic. The AIK lead was re-established in first-half injury-time when Danielsson's cross was turned over the line by Goitom. Dnipro poured forward again when battle resumed, Seleznyov and Kalinic both to the fore as Turina found himself working hard to keep them at bay. AIK were hanging on but always looked likely to buckle and they did so with 15 minutes remaining, Mandziuk powering his header home after meeting Ivan Strinic's cross. With the scores tied, Dnipro were not likely to hold back and in the 83rd minute they found the winner. Seleznyov was the scorer, taking advantage of Niklas Backman's error to defeat the unfortunate Turina for a third time.
