Dons looking to knock off league leaders

Aberdeen will be looking to continue their good home form against unbeaten league leaders Rangers at Pittodrie. Gers have only won one of their last eight league trips to Aberdeen, a record manager Mark McGhee would dearly love to continue. Dons' Gary McDonald is missing through suspension, while fellow midfielder Fraser Fyvie is recovering from a knee injury. Darren Young and Stuart Duff are possible contenders to fill the gap in central midfield, while defender Zander Diamond is still not match fit.

    Gers news

Jerome Rothen remains in France being treated for swine flu and he will have no part to play in this weekend's game at Pittodrie. He contracted the illness while back in his homeland and Rangers boss Walter Smith is confident there is no chance of infection spreading among the rest of the squad. Better news for Rangers is the return of Steven Naismith ahead of the trip to Pittodrie after he missed the midweek defeat to Stuttgart with hamstring and calf injuries. Longer-term casualties Maurice Edu and Kirk Broadfoot are back in training and are both nearing a return to the first team.
