    Verdict

The big question here is will any of Cornish Gale¿s three rivals manage to get him off the bridle at any stage in the race? And if so, will they have anything left to offer when the Paul Nicholls-trained gelding gets into overdrive? The likeliest answers are that Cornish Gale will use this as a confidence booster before going on to better things over fences if the evidence of the form-book is to be believed. And that the once-raced No Fear will benefit greatly from the experience and chase home the warm favourite. How Kelatan and Comte Chambord fare will give their connections some encouragement for future engagements.
