In depth

Verdict

Sally Alner's Unlimited Free looks an improved performer this term and is taken to follow up his recent Folkestone success at the main expense of Macgeorge and Maidstone Monument. The last mentioned is an inconsistent performer but may be due a decent run having pulled up last time. He is dangerous to discount, as is Macgeorge. Admittedly the 14-year-old is unlikely to improve a great deal but Richard Lee's gelding still retains plenty of ability and cannot be dismissed entirely. Tell Tale showed improved form at Taunton earlier this month and is another worthy of a mention, along with the reappearing Chief Mouse and another old favourite Nahthen Lad but the vote goes to Unlimited Free, who is taken to supplement his recent Folkestone success.
