      In depth

      Verdict

Dave was scheduled to run at Musselburgh on Thursday night and if taking a chance here, he looks in with a serious chance of landing this race. John Best's charge won at Folkestone in spite of an incident with the hood at the start and on that evidence looks well ahead of the handicapper. Climate has his first run for Kevin Ryan and could be dangerous if the change of scenery has worked the oracle. Hartshead has ability but ran poorly last time out and has it to do from an unfavourable middle-draw. Nemo Fugat is watched in the market for any signs of confidence while Mitsuki showed a glimpse of a return to form at the track last week and holds obvious claims thereon. A fair sprint handicap but if Dave turns up, there is plenty to recommend him.
