In depth

Verdict

Maureen's Lough is no great shakes but she makes a modicum of appeal against likely favourite Goldhill Prince and Dancing Shirl. David Barron's charge is exposed at this level but she's here to be claimed and her racing weight in this contest reflects accordingly. Goldhill Prince has done nothing wrong this year and while there is an obvious doubt about stamina - this race is so weak that connections must feel that they can get away with it. Dancing Shirl is here after competing in much better events. Countrywide Sun has beaten few home while Lana's Turn has disappointed on a number of occasions. The market is watched with regard to Micky Hammond's Gunnerbergkamp. A modest race in which Maureen's Lough is selected.
