Verdict

Both Makhaaleb and Swiss Guard are due to contest the 9.10 race here on Tuesday so it's best to wait and see the outcome of that handicap hurdle before taking a view on the pair here. Suffice to say both have solid form chances if turning up for the second time in 24 hours. However, CASTLETOWN BOY makes plenty of appeal now he's found his way back to form after presumably considerable training troubles. He last scored back at Cartmel in 2008 but two recent efforts were very promising and he looks on an appetising mark despite being upped 4lb for his latest run. What A Steel is genuine and consistent and looks the each-way value although it would not be a surprise if he was good enough to get his head in front.
