        Verdict

        SINGALAT found the competition too hot when stepped up into Listed company at Ascot last time. However, his earlier third on fast ground at Leicester is working out well with the winner subsequently placed in the Coventry Stakes and the runner-up having since won. James Given's charge gets the vote ahead of The Rising, who had shown promise on his debut at Haydock and wears a first-time visor, while Elusive Island should improve for his first start at Hamilton. Doc's Legacy is expected to take another step forward and Findhornbay is a newcomer to note.
