In depth

Verdict

Raffish gets just a tentative vote over Jackie Kiely, with Icannshift, Fairy Monarch and Majestic Star others in with a shout. Raffish overcame a drop in trip to battle his way to victory at Lingfield last time, and if in the same mood, can go in again off what is not a bad mark. Mind you, in this line-up he is no good thing, and there are many dangers including Jackie Kiely who was badly hampered behind Otago at Newmarket. Phil McEntee's charge will need things to fall right but should not be left out. Icannshift just failed to last out at Brighton last time but that was an improved effort, and Fairy Monarch got up to score at Pontefract last time. This trip will suit, and the six-year-old is yet another to consider. Majestic Star seems to be gong the right way based on her last two efforts and should be found a suitable opportunity in time, but in a hard one to call, we shall stick with Raffish to small stakes.
