This should concern those at the top of the handicap, with Distant Cousin selected to defy topweight at the expense of Arabian Moon and Late Arrival, with Sonoma worth a mention. The fast ground should help those at the top of the handicap to hump their burdens over this mile and three-quarters, and Distant Cousin should have little difficulty judging by the way that he was ridden out to score by four lengths on the Lingfield Polytrack last month. That was his first victory in three years, and it looks as though he is finally back in some sort of form. He is well handicapped on that form, and can follow up. Arabian Moon will make a bold bid to stop him no doubt, as he did well to win at Windsor after his rider dropped his whip close home. He too is well in on his old form, but has been in and out, so is not one to totally rely on. Late Arrival was beaten over two miles at Redcar last time, but having won over the same course and distance the time before, it was more a case of his revised mark proving too much, and he should at least appreciate this shorter trip. Sonoma was third in a moderate affair at Musselburgh last time, but this is not much better and he could easily make the frame, but for the winner we return to Distant Cousin.
