    Verdict

The three-year-olds should come out on top here, with Nanton preferred ahead of Burton Ash, and Jack The Giant expected to improve again to take a hand. Nanton is the highest rated here on 76 so should comfortably take care of those above him in the list, and the way that he ran on at the end of his victory at Haydock last week suggests that he will be hard to beat again today. Burton Ash is surprisingly dropped back to a mile after his staying on effort here at Nottingham a fortnight ago, but she has been knocking at the door and is well treated by the conditions of today's race. Jack The Giant is going the right way and is worth another try at this trip, but he did weaken quickly behind Spanky's Ladder at Newmarket. The older challengers are beatable, although Blue Empire did win well at Chester the time before last on only his second start for his current trainer. Nanton lines up in the best form of all though, and will be hard to stop on today's terms.
