In depth

Verdict

This should be a straightforward task for Ijtihad, with Son Of Halling and Bow River Gold the best of the rest. The selection ran well at this course last time and stayed-on gamely under pressure before being narrowly beaten by Introducing. That form sets the standard in this race, and this Marcus Tregoning charge will take all the beating. Son of Halling ran a bit green but stayed on well over 7 furlongs last time at Chepstow, so this step up to a mile could suit. The only other one to consider here is Bow River Gold but it would be a surprise if this was capable of getting close to our other two fancies. So Ijtihad is the one to beat and should make his racecourse experience count, but Son of Halling is likely to improve and could run the selection close.
