In depth

Verdict

Plenty in with chances in the opener - a seller - and the shortlist has to include Absolute Utopia, Barton Sands, Mister Rambo, El Pedro and Fife And Drum, with the vote going to Mister Rambo. Dandy Nicholls' eight-year-old comes here in good heart following a fair second in a Hamilton seller and he can gain quick compensation. He has the added attraction of being the only course winner in the race. Absolute Utopia is also running well and, with Frankie McDonald taking a useful five pounds off his back, can go well from a good draw. Martin Pipe's Barton Sands has chances on the best of his form, while the lightly-raced Bojangles will be more at home in this company. Fife And Drum comes here in fine fettle, the cheekpieces seeming to have restored his zest, while El Pedro hails from an in-form stable and the best of his form gets him in the placings. A competitive affair, although it does lack strength in depth, and it can go to Mister Rambo.
