Verdict

Second time out has been a profitable policy to follow with John Gosden's younger runners and, with that in mind, Cut Short is fancied to prevail here; possibly at the main expense of Heart's Desire and the newcomer Posteritas, who make a fair amount of appeal on pedigree. Merwaha is another to keep tabs on when the betting market opens in earnest as she hails from a yard that are just stepping things up a gear and it will be no surprise to see her go close at the first time of asking. However, Cut Short was given a very light introduction when she finished fifth here on her debut last month and can be expected to have learnt a good deal from the experience. Gosden has an excellent strike-rate with horses of this nature and, with trip and ground sure to suit, he can add to it if all goes well for Cut Price here.
